Retired living means living from project to project. “Project-based” living keeps me purposeful, intentional. And definitely fills up my day to day. I’m glad a lot of my projects kicked off in October.
A little house renovation started the other week: extending a room in the ground floor to eventually morphing into my bedroom once climbing up the stairs becomes difficult. Hahaha. I’m going through hoops just to get an effing building permit from the San Juan City Hall - for such a small renovation! Anyway, project has started and will take about 3 - 4 months. Once done, Project No 1 will be a bigger home gym cum entertainment area.
I got my new set of wheels last week - the Land Cruiser FJ! It took 4 months of waiting. And I’m still one of the first on the road. I have been dreaming of this since it debuted in Tokyo Motorshow November last year. This is my first time to own a 4x4. And I’ve always wanted a Land Cruiser badge. Thankful that they finally came up with this Junior version that fit my budget. Customization is the project for this baby. I’ve changed the rubber tires on it. And waiting for a few more accessories to complete this Project No. 2.
I finally received the keys of the new studio apartment (condo) in Pasig City. It took quite a while to process. I bought this for leasing eventually. But for now, I am excited to furnish it. I want to avoid major renovation so I am thinking of how I could make it conform to my aesthetic tastes while keeping cost low. Hahaha Project No 3 will take a while.
Business-wise, I still have some trainings to do for the company. And hopefully, I am able to seal a deal with a new client. Fingers crossed.
Joel and I are still producing episodes for the podcast, Niors Truly. We have published 22 episodes and about 8 shorts! So expect more to come!
It’s also been a year since I underwent the knife for my Barrett’s Esophagus condition. I had a laparoscopic funduplication procedure. Though laparoscopy meant small holes rather than a big cut, recovery was still quite difficult. The incisions formed wounds that still took long to heal and dry up. Though the procedure was a success, my condition has not improved remarkably. Oh well.
October has been quite a month. No dull moment at all!
