back to the old stuff

with this great home theater system, you would think i'd be catching up on all the movies i missed, specially the academy-nominated ones, right?

nope. instead, im watching again movies like fame (the original), bridges of madison county, the promise. i wanted to re-live the experience and go through the emotions again.

fame wowed me the first time. the soundtrack was simply spectacular. certain images remained in my head for years after: irene cara undressing before the opportunistic auteur, paul mcrane singing and playing the guitar with the neon sign behind him, the rocky horror picture show. and the valedictory chorus 'i sing the body electric'. this blu ray version captured the music beautifully.

im going through sappy romantic emo. hence, the promise and bridges of madison county. and again, the feelings washed over me. sigh. love, with all its complications, entrapments.

i'm watching a movie here at home with a date tomorrow. what would you recommend? :-)

you can never go wrong with classics. one of my fave date movies is when harry met sally. if you've seen it, you would know why. lol the faking orgasm scene is too precious. haha

Avoid anything with John Lloyd Cruz in it... Probably, Texas chainsaw massacre would do the trick. LOL.

Depending on what your mood is, there's a ton of classic movies you can choose from :D

If you want something manly with a soft side, I recommend The Unforgiven

If you want cheesy romantic flick, I'd go with Gone with the Wind

If you want something scary, you can never go wrong with The Omen/The Exorcist but if you want something relatively new, you can get The Blair Witch Project

Hope this helps :D
