commensalism

A symbiotic relationship between two organisms of different species in which one derives some benefit while the other is unaffected

could there possibly be commensals in human relationships? as opposed to predators and prey?

Maybe when you adore someone from afar and he or she doesn't even know you exist.

And that person becomes your inspiration or aspiration or role model...and in the process you become better and he or she is unaffected.

Happy 2009.

hi c_v! hmmm. you have a point. but commensalism seems to imply that both organisms are aware of each other.

m_m: at nung naisip mo yung indecent proposal, ano sa palagay mo, pwede bang unaffected ang isa?

As long as the host does not benefit nor seek to benefit from the relationship with a commensal.
