its typhoid fever

my blood tests came out positive for salmonella typhii. that's what's been eating up my body for the past days.

hospitals. bland hospital food. yucky hospital pajamas. saving grace: a lot of goodlooking nurses around. surprisingly.

i might have to stay a while, until my condition normalizes. wrong timing. so much work pending at the office. then there's class. oh well.

im still blessed its not dengue. nor AH1N1. and still better off than the victims of ondoy. i really feel so sad for all of them.

nursing myself back to health, now that i know what the culprit is.

Just what we need: a Typhoid Mary.

Get some rest and get well soon.

At least you know it's not the fates that made you sick.

Awww, pagaling ka. Hopefully you won't get the delirium associated with the fever and it's rarely fatal.

A close friend also got typhoid fever recently. He's ok now.

If I remember correctly, the most utilized ELISA test for Salmonella IgG and IgM have a positive predictive value of only around 50%. That means roughly half of what they say as positive for typhoid fever actually have some other illness.
On the other hand, if Salmonella typhi was cultured from your blood specimen, then that is undeniable proof of typhoid fever.
I hope I have not muddled up things for you.
