my color palette for new york

i am off to new york soon. first time for me to visit the u.s. thrilled at the thought of visiting my sisters there. and true to form, i am planning my wardrobe... grey is so in... neutrals in different shades, with accents of iridescent colors. wow. will complete the outfit there na (still lack the grey trenchcoat). and yes, boots. will pick up boots. gotta have a pair. searched for the perfect pair of grey sneakers. must be light. found it in geox. ganda!!!

my partner's leaving for australia soon. we're in an exclusive relationship. mejo magkaiba lang naman tayo ng point of view but i'm glad you're sharing your experiences. i especially loved your oct 7 post: my parallel lives intersect.

we plan to keep the relationship even though he'll be gone for a year to take his masters there. i am hopeful we'll make it through.

anyway, i just wanna thank you. keep on blogging :)

by the way, i loved your podcast with MGG few months back.

thanks, mike!!! skinny jeans will soon be so out. pleats making a comeback, but on a low-waist cut and less baggy effect. hahaha.

tenchu - glad you enjoyed the blog, despite our diff POV. LDR's can work. ill be sharing with you a long article in a website on LDR's. ill post it later. hugs!

I would love to wear grey, but you can only get away with it in certain cities like New York. Wearing grey in sunny Florida would draw quizzical stares.

I love the suit! Is that the one you'll be wearing? Nothing sexier than a man in a nice, well-cut suit.

You'll absolutely love New York. Shop 'til you drop! Ask them to take you Outlet Shopping!

Hmmmm...as for boots. Am not really a big fan of them. They just don't work out for me.
Cheers!

errrr...i personally would want you wearing some nice colorful clothes...coz its new york...where everyone is in suit...and donning a gray suit would only mimic you with the rest of the new yorkers...

but then again if you're really planning on that...splash something like stripe color socks,,,you can have a stripe red and white jacket for your gray trenchcoat...

and travel light...enjoy...

ive never been out of our country but if its not too much to ask hope i can have a gift from new york...a celestina bag would do!!!nyay!!!

hahahhahahahahahah

It is getting close to winter over there. Classic black, I thought would be best. It is all about layering. Combine textures but keep the colours to a minimum. Boots are good both for function and fashion. I don't own one myself because our winters in Brisbane is very mild.
Tell us all about the night life while you're there. Catch a Broadway show while you are there.

marcus... i just might post some pics. hehehe

john... absolutely not in florida. i am actually going to miami, too, to attend a conference (28 nov - 1 dec). will definitely have something more like what i'd wear in manila

yajnat... good point. but when in rome... hehehe. the color accent would be in less, ahem, attention getting body parts. hehe. i dont think i could get away with it (at my age)

quentin... black is actually back, though mixed with grey, too. great for night life. definitely catching a show or too in broadway. and will definitely post stories about THE NYC night life...

thanks for the comments, guys...

Grays and black are the safest colors for winter in NYC. If you want a little color you can play it with your mufflers, yellows and reds and blue and white are nice colors to match your trench coat. Typically New yorkers wear an all black ensemble when walking the streets of manhattan. But adding colors could add more character to an otherwise boring black ensemble. Me, i usually wear gray trench coat and black/gray inner clothes. You can visit H&M if you want inexpensive clothes that really suits well. I love wearing their pants and shirts. Classic elegance. Prepare for long walks and shopping at fifth ave. I could be a tour guide too if ever you run out ot things to do hehe.
